A boozed-up woman has been forced to pay £185 for being found drunk and disorderly by police.
Chesterfield magistrates’ court heard on Tuesday. February 14, how Marie Taylor, 38, of Devonshire Drive, Creswell, had been at a 60th birthday party when she was found screaming and shouting in Welbeck Street, at Whitwell.
Prosecuting solicitor John Cooper said a police officer attended to find a female being restrained by a male and she was screaming and shouting in the street.
Mr Cooper added that Taylor was handcuffed to prevent her lashing out and she was abusive to the officer who noticed she had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech and she refused to calm down.
Taylor pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place after the incident in the early hours of January 29.
Defence solicitor Serena Simpson said Taylor had met her sister and they had called into a pub and had been to a 60th birthday party and her drinking had got out of control.
Ms Simpson added that Taylor is ashamed of her behaviour but she recognises she has alcohol problems and she is seeking help and wants to start working.
Magistrates fined Taylor £80 and ordered her to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
