Retford: Strictly good fun as dancing event raises money for Bassetlaw Hospice
Amateur couples took to the dance floor at Retford Town Hall to raise money for Bassetlaw Hospice.
In front of 300 people, 11 pairings took up the challenge of the Strictly Learn to Dance event, having had just 10 weeks to prepare.
The 2013 British Ballroom and Latin champions Peter Ryalls, of Worksop, and Yazmin Hanley added to the spectacle with outstanding performances throughout the evening.
The couples completed both the jive and Tango before an eventual winner was decided by the audience.
Pete and Lynn Best took home the prestigious glitterball trophy but the real winner on the night was the charitable cause involved.
Helen Eshelby, a fund raising co-ordinator for the hospice praised the couples and everyone involved behind the scenes, saying: “They have worked so hard over the last 10 weeks to make the show a success.”
