Retford: Police release image of man they want to speak to after diamond rings stolen

A man has stolen a tray of diamond rings from a jewellery shop in Retford.

Police are appealing for information about the theft at The Jewel Box in Carolgate, on Monday 13th January.

A man entered the shop and asked to see their diamond rings.

When the shop assistant brought out a tray of rings, the man grabbed it and ran, but when the shop assistant brought out a tray, he grabbed it and ran.

No-one was injured during the theft, which happened at around 3.35pm.

Police said the man joined another male outside and the pair fled in a silver vehicle.

Officers think the man in the image may be able to help them with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Ash Wilson said: “Were you shopping in town on Monday? Did you see a silver car in the area at around 3.30pm? It may have been driving at speed.”

“We’re keen to hear from anyone who may have seen something suspicious or out of the ordinary in the moments before or after the theft.”
