Retford: Man who swiped £300 from cash machine saw it as a ‘Brucie bonus’

Mark Brown, 39, of Grange Road, was stood behind a woman at a Morrisons cash point who had withdrew her money but had failed to put it in her bag.

Brown, who works as a scaffolder, said that he did not know whose money it was and saw it as a ‘Brucie bonus.’

CCTV footage showed Brown taking the money and then drawing cash out of his own - which led to police tracing him through his bank details.

Brown pleaded guilty at Worksop Magistrates’ Court and was ordered to pay £300 compensation, £85 costs and £34 victim surcharge.
