Retford: Man killed by train was a local pensioner from the town
Police have confirmed that the man who was killed after being hit by a train at Retford station was a 73 year-old local man.
The elderly victim was reportedly seen on the tracks just before the train hit him at around 10am yesterday morning (Wednesday, 13th August).
No details of the man’s name have yet been released.
The police are not treating the death as suspicious and are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
