Retford: Lynx Academy martial arts students invited to special training event with Korean masters

They were invited by Master Kim Yong Ho 9th Dan, President of the World Chungdokwan and the World Mudo Academy, to take part in a one-off five-hour seminar to train with Master Cheon 8th Dan, trained in a Hapkido, Master Han 8th Dan and the venerable Master Kim Sang Tae.

Master Kim 9th Dan, was also present at the event and gave a very motivational and inspiring speech.

The coach trip was conducted by Lynx Academy instructors Andrew and Rachel Blinston and scholarship instructors, Rhio Blinston and Robert Martin.

“These training seminars are such a rare opportunity and students travel all over the country to be part of something quite unique,” said Rachel.

“The students from Lynx who varied in ages and capabilities, from white belt to black belt, all had a great time training and meeting students from other martial arts schools around the UK.”

Master Han, part of the Korean demonstration team, spoke about balance within your martial arts and life, whilst focusing on strength and flexibility.

Master Kim Sang Tae, explained about breathing through patterns correctly, focus, clarity and mental wellbeing.

Master Cheon trained the students on take down techniques, locks and retrains.

The seminar was filmed by a Korean production film and the London Korean tourist information board were present throughout, taking photos.

The seminar drew to a close with Master Kim making his final speech and thanking the organisers and delegates for their time.

He also spent time with the students of Lynx Academy after the seminar and discussed future plans with Andrew, who is the general sectary of the Mudo of Great Britain and was the one of the British delegates flown over to Korea for the official opening of the World Mudo Educational Centre there.
