Jane McGowan was nominated for the rose by her friend and colleague Libby Rose.

Recently Libby presented Jane with the Guardian Rose infront of a session she was holding at the centre.

Libby said she wanted to surprise her with the rose for being ‘one of the most patient and caring people.’

“She is the GP referral co-ordinator and a gym supervisor,” said Libby.

“She works with many people young and old, some who are seriously ill with all kinds of medical conditions.”

“She devises programs for them to help their recovery and advises them on diet and health issues. She also runs classes such as senior circuits, cardio rehab and chair based exercises. She also supervisors the gym and advises customers on their exercise regimes.”

“She is one of the most patient and caring people that I know, makes time for everybody and will do anything for anyone.”

Libby said that Jane, who she has known for around 10 years, is also as supportive to her colleagues.

She added: “As a work colleague she will always help you out and can make you smile no matter what your mood.”

“Jane is always happy to do extra hours whenever we need cover and is loved by all her work mates and customers.”

Jane said: “I was so shocked. I’m just doing my job. It’s all about teamwork as well and if it wasn’t for my colleagues Libby, Nicky and Denise because it’s them that support me.”
