Retford: George and Alice plot routes to success

Thirteen year-old George Carley from The Elizabethan Academy in Retford, came second in the British Schools Score Orienteering Championship in the year nine boys category.

The championships took place at Arrow Valley Park at Redditch in Worcestershire.

George had previously finished third in the event at both the 2012 and 2013 events and showed his improvement by going one better this year.

Ten year-old Alice Carley, from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Retford, also had an excellent result as she finished fifth in the year six girls event.
