Retford: First pictures from scene of Churchgate car park closure
Eyewitnesses say police activity is focused on a red van in Retford’s Churchgate car park.
It is still not known why the town centre car park is cordoned off by police.
The van, parked in the middle, is the only vehicle in the car park.
Police cars and officers have the scene surrounded and are patrolling the car park perimeter.
Forensic specialists and CID officers are also on the scene.
It will remain closed for the next few hours while investigations continue.
Saturday shoppers are advised to use alternative car parks while police carry out their investigations.
