REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY: Services in Mansfield and Ashfield
Services will take place at churches and war memorials across the region to remember those who died in conflict.
The following events will take place in Mansfield:
At 9.50am, a brief ceremony will take place at Mansfield Civic Centre War Memorial for a brief ceremony,which will include wreath laying, ahead of a parde to St Peter’s and St Paul’s Church for a service at 10.55am.

In Mansfield Woodhouse, a parade will leave the car park at Yeoman Hill at 10.10a, followed by a service at St Edmund’s Parish Church at 11am.
A further wreath laying ceremony will take place at Pleasley Vale memorial.
Parades in Warsop and Forest Town will begin at 10am, starting at Carr Lane Ex-Servicemen’s Club in Warsop and Forest Town Welfare Club.
Rainworth will also see a parade, starting at the Village Hall, Kirklington Road at 10.15am and heading to St Jude’s Church for a service at 10.45am.

Bellamy Road Community Centre, Mansfield, will hold a service from 10.20am.
The following events will take place in Ashfield:
At 9.25am a parade will assemble at Portland Square in Sutton and head on to St. Mary’s Church for a service and a wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph at 11am.
In Kirkby, a service will take place at 9.45am at St. Thomas’ Church, Kingsway, and people can then head to the town’s War Memorial to lay wreaths.
Services in Stanton Hill and Skegby will begin at 10.30am, starting at All Saints Church in Stanton Hill and St. Andrew’s Church in Skegby.

St Katherine’s Church in Teversal will also be holding a service from 11am.
Huthwaite will also see a parade, which will begin after the 10am service at All Saints Church and end with a wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph.
The memorial in Selston will be holding a service at 9.30am.
Jacksdale will play host to two separate services - one at 10.15am in Ironville and one at 10.30am at the memorial on Main Street.

Throughout the day, people will also have the chance to lay wreaths at the Pepper Gardens Memorial in Sutton - but there will be no formal service at the sites.
Ashfield District Council is welcoming the public to join in any of the services.
Remembrance Sunday is marked by ceremonies in cities, towns and villages across the country and is attended by residents, as well as members of the Royal British Legion and other veterans’ organisations.
