Red hot fun!

FUN, games and a range of activities were enjoyed by all as families flocked to Misterton Fire Station for a special open day.

The SureStart Family Fun Day was an opportunity for the public to look around the station and enjoy a range of events.

Visitors got the opportunity to get up close and personal with fire engines and the medical response car as local community responders were also on hand to give first aid advice and demonstrations.

Misterton’s SureStart Children’s Centre also kept the young ones entertained with a dance school display, face painting and birds of prey on show, not to mention a cake stall, tombola and much more.

Watch Manager Andy Horton said: “SureStart planned the Family Fun Day as part of their monthly session at the station, so we decided that it would be a great opportunity for us to get more involved.”

“We enjoyed showing people around and informing them about some of our work and the equipment we use.”

He added: “There was so much going on and it was a fantastic day for everyone.”
