READER LETTER: Roadworks - Mill house is not so '˜magic' roundabout
Back in the 1980s when the by-pass was built, this fact was well known to the planners but they just went ahead and today’s chaos is the result. Yes a split level junction would be the answer (flyover) and when this sticking plaster £2.4 million effort is proved to be a complete failure and congestion continues, my prediction that the headlines in the Worksop Guardian in the near or distant future would read ‘Major disruption as The Millhouse junction is upgraded to a split level junction with through traffic going under the local traffic roundabout with slip roads up to the roundabout with access slips to join’. By then all the faceless bureaucrats will have retired on their pensions paid for by the long suffering taxpayers who sit in their cars or look out of the congestion from their homes, not anonymous.
