READER LETTER: Police - An incident number won't catch them

Last night we reported to the police that goods were being stolen from premises owned by Plumb Center, Tanvic Tyres and Straightset at Stadium Close. We told them that we had disturbed them and they drove off but kept returning as they were waiting for us to leave. We provided the police with their vehicle registration number and we have got cctv footage and the police responded by giving us an incident number, but they didn’t send any one out from the police station.

We have reported the same vehicle on three earlier occasions since November 2015 when its occupants have tried to steal goods from our premises in broad daylight, as they must know that police coverage is none existent in Worksop.

The problem is getting worse as the burglars gain confidence, as they know that police issue incident numbers to victims but don’t followit up.
