The Minister of State for Schools, David Laws MP, has written to the school to congratulate it on its national Key Stage 2 tests.

Headteacher Rachel Yorke said they were thrilled to receive the letter.

She said: “I would like to reiterate the congratulations to staff, governors and pupils and would include parents/carers too. Studies have shown and staff in schools see over and over again that children thrive more in all areas of their lives if everyone at school and at home work together for their benefit.”

“We are thrilled to have received this letter as it confirms the fantastic levels our children reach and the amazing progress they make as we all work together at Rampton Primary School to ensure our children are as well placed as possible both academically and socially/emotionally for secondary school.”

Mr Law wrote in his letter: “It gives me great pleasure to congratulate you on the excellent performance of your pupils in the 2012 national Key Stage 2 tests as published on 13 December 2012.”

“The overall percentage of your pupils achieving Level 4+, combined with excellent rates of progress in both English and mathematics place you amongst the top performing primary schools this year.”

“Mastery of English and mathematics is critical to success at secondary school and beyond, so these pupils now have a really good start for the next stage of their education. I would like to congratulate your staff, governors and pupils for their hard work and success, and to thank you for your leadership in continuing the drive towards the highest standards of educational achievement.”
