RAIL STRIKE UPDATE: How will your journey home be affected?

Northern Rail bosses say they are encouraging passengers 'to think about their return journey' in light of today's strike action.

Service will be limited, with Northern Rail trains “winding down” from mid-afternoon onwards and very few trains running after 5pm.

Paul Barnfield, regional director at Northern, said: “We are now concentrating efforts on getting people home this evening.

“We urge everyone wanting to travel home today to think now about their return journey.

“Services on many routes will start to wind down from mid-afternoon onwards, with very few trains running after 5pm this evening.

“On behalf of Northern I would like to thank our customers for working with us today and altering their travel plans.

“I would also like to thank all of our people who have worked so hard to run our trains today.”

CHESTERFIELD

The 15:03 Chesterfield to Glasgow Central train is delayed by approximately six minutes. This is not due to strike action (someone has been taken ill on the train). Check the link below for updates.

BUXTON

There are currently no changes or disruption to services through Buxton.

However, services will be limited after 4.30pm. The last train to Chesterfield, according to Train Line, will leave at 18:02pm. Check the link below for updates.
