Question Time healthcare event

The event, organised by the Notts County LINk, will give Bassetlaw residents the chance to have their voices heard and find out about the healthcare issues that matter to them.

LINk community engagement worker Chris Watson said that the evening would be a real eye-opener.

“We’ll be taking issues and questions from the public and putting them to a panel in the know,” she said.

“We welcome questions from anyone who uses Bassetlaw health and socialcare services and we’re trying to raise awareness of what we do.”

LINk (Local Involvement Network) is an organisation dedicated to giving Notts residents the opportunity to influence their local health and social care services to ‘give you a stronger local voice’.

Chris continued: “We would ask people to please submit their questions beforehand so we can run a smooth and structured event with our host and panel of official - just like Question Time on the BBC.”

She added: “This is just a small example of the great work that we do in the local area, and we hope to see as many Bassetlaw residents as possible on the night - to come along, raise their concerns and make their voices heard.”

Members of the panel are: deputy chief executive and corporate director for adult social care, health and public protection David Pearson, BCO executive chairman Dr Steve Kell, Bassetlaw Council leader Coun Graham Oxby, Bassetlaw Action Centre’s Lynn Tupling, consultant and associate medical director Dr Mahmoud Alkhoffash and chief operating executive for the community services division of Notts Healthcare NHS Trust Paul Smeeton.

The Notts County LINk Question Time will be at The Acorn Theatre on Queen Street in Worksop from 7pm - 9pm on Thursday 22nd March.
