Public sector workers join national pensions fight

JOB centre workers from Dinnington and Maltby are joining a 24-hour national strike in a dispute over proposed pension changes.

Skeleton staff are operating at the centres today as members of the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) join major rallies in Sheffield and Leeds.

PCS Branch secretary for Barnsley and Rotherham Lesley Salt said the proposed cuts will leave thousands of public sector workers paying more and working longer for lower pensions.
