Pub approved on outskirts of Gainsborough

A NEW pub has been given the go ahead on the outskirts of Gainsborough creating at least 50 new jobs.

Plans for Marston’s Inns and Taverns to build a family style inn and eatery were approved unanimously by councillors at West Lindsey District Council.

The pub will be built near Somerby Park Industrial Estate off Thorndike Way and Heapham Road South.

At least 50 full time and part time staff will be employed to run the venture, which will feature a children’s play area and parking for 60 cars.

Less than three weeks ago planning permission was approved for a waste transfer station on nearby land at Marshall Way, on Somerby Park Industrial Estate.

Lincolnshire County Council will have the rubbish plant built and operating by late 2013, to transfer household waste in bulk to be incinerated in Lincoln.
