£1,600 raised for charity

A 60th birthday was cause for double celebration as £1,600 was raised for Sheffield Hospital Charity Trust.

Christine Bradford was diagnosed with cancer in the mouth in 2004, but thanks to the untiring efforts of the surgeons at Royal Hallamshire Hospital and the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital, she is now in remission.

Volunteers from Worksop and Carlton helped to raise the cash at a fundraiser on Sunday 22nd May at the Royal Elephant in Dinnington for almost 100 people.

A three-course meal was enjoyed by everyone as the entertainment provided a selection of Motown classics. Christine said: “Many thanks to all who donated auction and raffle tickets.”
