Protest taking place against fire service cut backs

Lincolnshire residents have been urged to take to the streets in protest against proposals to cut back on fire and rescue services in the county.

The proposals will include an end to 24 hour permanent cover in Lincoln, as well as the loss of a specialist appliance designed for dealing with chemical incidents. The fire service also plans to start charging businesses for false alarms.

The demonstration, called by Lincolnshire FBU, will take place on Saturday, April 9, from 10am by the War Memorial in High Street, Lincoln.
