Pot plants as apology

CHRISTMAS celebrations were too much for an Edwinstowe man who upset his neighbours.

James Andrew Bidwell, 31, of Fourth Avenue, admitted criminal damage and threatening behaviour at Worksop Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard, just after midnight on 22nd December 2011, neighbours were woken by Bidwell drunkenly singing, swearing and making threats. He then threw a bird feeder at the window of a house.

Defending, Andrew Bevan said Bidwell’s drinks had been spiked with excessive alcohol, causing such behaviour.

“He has replaced the bird feeder and given festive pot plants to his neighbours by way of apology,” he said.

Magistrates imposed a 12 month conditional discharge plus £85 costs.
