Postal disruptions due to snow

The recent heavy snowfall has caused disruptions for residents’ receiving their post.

Mail has been delayed due to staff at the Post Office not being able to get to all homes today (Tuesday).

Delays are expected in Bolsover, Eastwood, Hucknall, Ilkeston, Kirkby, Mansfield, Staveley and Sutton.

A spokesman for the Post Office said: “The continuing wintry conditions in many parts of the Midlands are hampering a speedy return to normal services in a number of areas, following the recent heavy snowfall.”

He added that staff will attempt deliveries where possible.

There will be no deliveries or collections on New Year’s Day.
