PCC elections: Who will you choose to help tackle crime in Nottinghamshire?
The poll takes place on the same day as the Nottinghamshire County Council elections and gives folk an opportunity to decide who they want to secure the top job to tackle crime across the county.
Police and Crime Commissioners were set up to deliver an effective and efficient police service and to hold the chief constable and the force to account.

Hide AdThey are answerable to the communities they serve and must work with the force to come up with initiatives to cut crime and are also responsible for how money is spent.
So, who are the candidates standing?
Let’s take a look.
Caroline Henry, Conservative
Mrs Henry grew up in Eastwood and is married to Broxtowe MP Darren Henry.
She decided to run as a candidate after three of her close friends were burgled and wants to ‘get tough on crime’.
Paddy Tipping, Labour
Mr Tipping served as Sherwood MP from 1992 to 2010, before becoming
Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner in 2012.

Hide AdHe has held the position ever since describing it as 'the best job he has ever had.'
David Watts, Liberal Democrats
Mr Watts is the Bramcote councillor at Broxtowe Borough Council.
He was a councillor between 1999 and 2015 and then from May 2019 to the current time.
The elections are being held on Thursday, May 6, with polling stations open between 7am and 10pm.
