Nottinghamshire County Council elections 2021 LIVE: Who are the new councillors in Bassetlaw?

Polling stations were open all day yesterday (Thursday, May 6) giving people the chance to choose who they want as their Bassetlaw councillor.
Notinghamshire is currently governed by a coalition between the Conservative Party and the Independents- a result of a poor showing for Labour as mining communities deattached from traditional political parties in 2017.

Hide AdTwo interesting seats this year will be Retford East and Retford West.
In 2017, Conservative Steve Vickers was elected for Retord East with 1,328 votes, while Labour's Pam Skelding lost out by just 37 votes with 1,291.
Conservative Mike Quigley was elected with 1,411 votes in Retford West, followed close behind by Labour's Darrell Eduard Pulk with 1,357 votes.

Liberal Democrats: Leon Duveen - 93 votes
Conservative: Matthew Evans - 887 votes
Labour: Glynn Gilfoyle - 1,394 votes
Voter turnout: 26.27%
10.13am: The counting of the County Council divisions has begun. Turnout in Bassetlaw for this election is 33.51 per cent.
