The incident, which involved three vehicles, happened on the junction of Retford Road and Hardwick Road West between 12.45pm and 1pm on Thursday, December 6.

The vehicles involved were a four door black BMW, a white flatbed Ford Transit van and a dark grey transit style van.

During the incident the white van was in convoy with the dark grey van when they came across the black BMW. The white van then deliberately reversed into the BMW twice, causing it to collide with the grey van. The white and the grey vans then left the scene.

“This took place in the middle of the day on the junction of a residential street with a lot of people and passing traffic around. We’re also urging any motorists who may have recorded dashcam footage of the incident to get in touch with us.”

Two men, aged 27 and 48, were arrested on 7 December 2018 in connection with the incident.

The 48-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray and criminal damage. The 27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.

Both men were subsequently released on conditional bail until 2 January 2019.
