Police in Rotherham are hot on the heels of suspected criminals

Police in Rotherham have made a number of arrests in recent days in connection with a burglary, drugs possession and theft from vehicles.

In the early hours of Thursday 20th June they were called to reports of a burglary in progress at the Master Brewer pub in Bramley.

Two 16-year-old boys were arrested while allegedly trying to cut the security cameras.

One boy was arrested on suspicion of theft, going equipped for theft and damage.

The second boy was found hiding in a nearby shed and was also arrested on suspicion ofthe same offences.

Police discovered other property during the course of their investigations that is believed to belong to victims of other burglaries in the area.

Both boys have since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police have also arrested a 33-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman from Kiveton Park on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, production of cannabis and abstracting electricity.

Both were released on police bail pending further enquiries.

And on Thursday 20th June two 16-year-old boys from Thurcroft were arrested on suspicion of theft from motor vehicles.

Again, both were released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said that tools should be taken out of vehicles and stored in a secure garage or at home overnight.

“We would like to remind people of the importance of not leaving valuables on display in vehicles or tools in vans as there are thieves out there looking for items such as sat navs, mobile phones, ipads, purses and laptops left on view,” she said.
