A police car is believed to have been involved in a rush hour crash on a busy road near Sheffield this morning.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a police car being towed away following the collision on the A57 near Worksop Road.

The road was ‘completely blocked’ by lorries, forcing traffic to be rerouted, they added.

South Yorkshire Police have been contacted for more details.
