Police arrest man and woman in connection with Notts purse thefts

Police have arrested a man and a woman in connection with the theft of thousands of pounds from elderly and vulnerable victims across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Each of the thefts had targeted elderly and vulnerable victims shortly after they have visited cash machines, building societies, banks or Post Offices to withdraw cash over the last three months.

A 37-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of theft earlier today (Friday 30 January). They remain in police custody for questioning.

Police have appealed for information on the series through local newspapers, radio and television stations, as well as via social media.
