POLICE APPEAL: Man pretending to sell cleaning products breaks into vulnerable woman’s home and steals handbag

Detectives are asking people to be on their guard following a distraction burglary in Worksop.

Between 6pm and 7pm on Friday March 13th a man selling cleaning products visited the home of a vulnerable 62-year-old woman living in Sunny Bank, Worksop.

He then gained entry into the house and stole a handbag including cash.

The handbag was later found abandoned on The Baulk in Worksop by a dog walker on the afternoon of Saturday, 14 March and handed in to the police.

The man is described as white with a tanned complexion, aged 20 to 25 and of average build and height. He was wearing a large, pale blue-coloured fabric bag.

Nottinghamshire Police would like to hear from anyone who was visited by a man selling cleaning products as they may have information which could help.
