Police appeal for witnesses to Gamston collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving two vehicles near Gamston at the weekend.

A white Mitsubishi Evo and a silver Subaru Impreza are believed to have been travelling in convoy when the Mitsubishi left the road and landed in a field off the A638 in Rockley.

It happened at about 11.50am on Saturday 20th October 2012.

Three men, who were all travelling in the Mitsubishi, sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre, in Nottingham, where they remain in a stable condition.

The driver of the Subaru, a 29-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been bailed pending further enquiries.

The cars are believed to have travelled from the Tuxford area, in the direction of Retford, via the A638 Great North Road.

Officers investigating the incident are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the two vehicles along this route immediately before the collision.

Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call PC Chris Catcheside on 101 extension 800 2265.
