Police appeal for witnesses after rival fans clash at Tigers match

Police are appealing for witnesses after crowd trouble marred Worksop Town’s home match against Tadcaster Albion.

Officers attended the scene at 9.50pm following Tadcaster’s 2-1 victory in front of a crowd of 879.

However supporters came face-to-face outside, as Tadcaster fans waited for their transport.

The away supporters were eventually given a police escort and no arrests were made.

Tigers boss Mark Shaw slammed the scenes, saying it was “really poor” and “sad”.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said: “On arrival no disorder was witnessed by officers and no injured parties presented themselves to officers to make a complaint. No arrests were made.”
