The north and southbound carriageways of the M1 between junctions 28 and 29 are currently closed because of a fire involving a lorry which is carrying “potentially explosive materials”, police have said.
The incident is causing travel chaos on the motorway.
Firefighters are at the scene.
There are no reports of any injuries.
