Persistent Worksop pest sent back to prison after ASBI breach

Vincent Dyer was sentenced to four months in prison at Mansfield County Court after he had intentionally placed himself within the exclusion zone set out in the conditions of his injunction.

This latest breach activated a three-month suspended sentence after Dyer was arrested in Northumbria Close, an address in the exclusion zone.

On that occasion, Dyer had gone to the address to collect some medication from his former partner and his friend, who was staying the night at the property.

The three started drinking and the following day an argument ensued between Dyer and his former partner – ending with the police being called.

At the hearing, Dyer’s solicitor said his client had been trying to turn his life around since being released from prison in December 2015,

However, Dyer’s three-month suspended sentence was activated, while the judge also added an extra month’s imprisonment.

Councillor Julie Leigh, Bassetlaw District Council cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: “I hope that following this latest spell in prison Dyer can begin to make forward strides with his life again and break this circle of offending.”
