Ash Greenwood - “starving” after working a 12-hour shift - stopped at the Rhodesia drive-through for a medium six-piece Chicken McNuggets meal on his way home on Sunday.
However he was “shocked” as he opened the £4.79 meal to find the nuggets box filled with the sliced pickled cucumbers instead of tasty deep-fried chicken pieces.

The hungry McNuggets fan had unknowingly been given someone else’s order – placed at the Worksop branch especially by a lover of the preserved delicacy.
Security guard Ash immediately returned to the restaurant with the unwanted brine snack - where a manager met him outside to hear his complaint.
Furious Ash, 31, who “can’t stand gherkins”, says as he was offered the chicken meal he originally ordered no apology was given - which he says was “terrible customer service”.
He said: “They were just so rude about it and I wasn’t even offered an apology.”

Speaking about the alarming discovery after bringing the long-awaited meal home Ash said: “I just couldn’t believe it, I was disgusted by it.
“I had been working for 12 hours and was desperate for something to eat, so you can imagine how it went down when I opened the box and found nothing but gherkins.
“It’s just hard to see how you could get it so wrong - there’s a big difference between nuggets and gherkins.”
Explaining the mix-up, a spokesperson for McDonald’s said the gherkins were given to Ash by mistake after being put aside in a chicken nugget box to honour a special request for a delivery customer order.

The spokesperson said: “We are very sorry to hear about this customer’s experience.
“This was mix-up in customers’ orders and as soon we were made aware we replaced the customer’s meal.
"We take order accuracy very seriously and have a number of procedures in place to avoid inaccurate orders – we are disappointed that we fell short of these on this occasion.”
