A spokesperson for Stagecoach said: “The train station and Halford stops will not be served. Sorry for any inconvenience.”

Sinkholes on Carlton Road are nothing new- in 2017, the road was closed for months while a six-foot sinkhole had to be repaired.

Less than ten months later another cave-in appeared outside the old Newcastle Arms, again taking months to fix.

The Guardian has contacted Severn Trent for comment.
