Thanks to Visit Nottinghamshire – here are 10 awesome places where you can have a great time all for under ten pounds in and around the county this Easter.

9. Party like the locals do
Nottingham is host to over two dozen festivals each year, bringing theatre, live music, poetry, food, drink and more to the county. Throughout the summer, there are free events almost every weekend in Nottingham, including live music festivals, cultural events like Nottingham Pride, brass bands, and more. Nottingham is a city that believes in the power of inclusivity, which is evident in its free annual events. From the vibrant Nottingham Mela to the lively Nottingham Carnival, these events are a testament to the city's commitment to providing accessible cultural experiences. And the best part? They are free to attend. Additional charges, such as grabbing a drink or a bite to eat, are optional. So, why not indulge in the local delicacies like the minty mushy peas at Goose Fair? 10. Take in the view
Climb the levels of Green's Windmill and see award-winning organic flour being made. Find out about the life and work of George Green, the famous 19th-century mathematician, test your minds with fun, hands-on puzzles and experiments, or relax on the grass below to get a great view of Nottingham and the valley of the River Trent. Enjoy FREE admission when they are open from Wednesday - Sunday from 10am to 4pm. They often run seasonal events with either voluntary donations or, for a small fee, under £10. For another fantastic view of the Nottinghamshire countryside, you can access the stunning grounds of Newstead Abbey and its gardens with all-day parking for £6. A beautiful historic house set in a glorious landscape of gardens and parkland within the heart of our county, it was founded as a monastic house in the late 12th century before it was home to the poet Lord Byron between 1808 and 1814. The grounds are the perfect place to enjoy a picnic or walk, and you can explore the inside of the Abbey with a separate admission ticket. For a budget-friendly and serene outdoor experience, explore the numerous Country Parks and Gardens scattered across Nottinghamshire. While some may have parking charges, admission is often FREE. Revel in the stunning views, take leisurely walks, or enjoy a peaceful picnic with your loved ones, all for under £10. Photo: National World
