Poppy, estimated to be aged 12, is a Jack Russel Terrier. Poppy is a gentle girl who is missing her home comforts. She loves to sit on the sofa with you and is a very loyal little lady. She is okay with dogs out and about, but much prefers people. She should be the only pet in the home. She is best suited to live with children over 12 as she is more familiar with a quieter life. She is a very friendly girl. Photo: Thornberry Animal Sanctuary
Dotty is eight-years-old. She is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. She is a very friendly, giddy girl. Typical of the breed, she loves people, but can be enthusiastic with greetings - so the sanctuary feel she is best suited to a household with a child aged 10+. She has been good with dogs but not socialised much previously, so should be the only pet in the home. She enjoys her walks and has arrived after an unsettled period of being left alone for long periods. She would prefer a home with reduced hours initially as she settles. Pluto is aged one and seven months. He is a bulldog cossbreed. Pluto is a complicated young boy who has so much potential in the right home. Pluto has shown guarding behaviour in his previous home and is defensive around his kennel. Out and about he is a joy once introduced, and is particularly fond of his favourite kennel handler James. Pluto has lived with another bulldog and could do so again providing they’re a good role model for him. He can live with adults only and is house trained. Photo: Thornberry Animal Sanctuary
Arlo is a two-year-old male lurcher. Arlo arrived at the sanctuary in a terrible way, but has blossomed in their care. He walks nicely on lead after some training with the team, and will do his basic commands for tasty treats. Arlo has never known home life, so would benefit from experienced owners who ideally have an area where he can relax and adjust gradually. Arlo needs to be the only pet in his new home and can’t live with children. Weighing 33kg, Arlo is a big dog, so much bigger than he looks in the photo. Arlo just needs someone to give him a chance.
