Pause for Thought

I’ve been asking school children this week about why we might give up something during lent.

Some have decided to give up sweets and chocolates.

Others have given up playing on their PlayStation or i-pad.

A lot of children could tell me that in Lent we remember Jesus fasting in the wilderness forty days.

One child answered ‘because Jesus gave-up his body for us’.

What a wonderful, deep and truthful answer to reflect on as we prepare to celebrate Easter.
