A hospital trust spokesman said: “At the time of writing, we are caring 34 patients who have tested positive for Covid-19.

"This is a very small increase from last week, and a timely reminder that, while things are looking more optimistic, this illness is still within our communities and as such we should act accordingly.

“The breakdown of this is as follows: 27 at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and seven at Bassetlaw.

"For the first time in quite some time, Montagu Hospital does not currently have any active COVID-19 cases, and long may this continue. Finally, the age range is between 18 and 93.

“Keep on doing what you're doing - remember hands, face and space and continue to stick to the relevant guidance. We're hoping for a brighter spring, so let's not fall at the final hurdle.”
