The Independent Community Scrutiny Panel (ICSP) has been created by the PCC to deliver independent scrutiny of all aspects of policing in Nottinghamshire including the quality of the force's interaction with members of BAME (Black and Minority Ethnic) communities.

Six positions are available and the PCC is keen to hear from professionals with lived experience of racism.

The aim of the panel is to invite volunteers to share their knowledge, insight and understanding to improve policing and build trust across the BAME community.

Mr Tipping said: "This new panel reinforces my commitment to delivering accountability and transparency in everything we do.

"This is about working proactively with our communities to identify any processes or systems where progress is needed so we can strengthen our relationships with local people and build trust and rapport.

"There are many underrepresented voices in policing and I'm determined to change that by providing a platform to share ideas, experience and expertise and learn from the people who know their communities best. By working together, we can listen and deliver change in the most meaningful way."

Applicants have until noon on Friday, April 9, to apply and for more information and an application pack visit www.nottinghamshire.pcc.police.uk.
