But the team say they are still ‘working extremely hard’ behind the scenes to deliver ‘a fantastic theme park that will entertain families for many years to come’.

Julie Dalton, managing director of Gulliver’s Theme Parks Resorts, which is a family business, said: “Dealing with the impact of COVID-19 has obviously made it an incredibly difficult time for everyone across the country and unfortunately, to ensure the health and safety of our staff, it has meant that we’ve had to stop construction on the Gulliver’s Valley site for the time being.

“But we’re remaining positive as, while we could never have predicted the current situation, we do have ample flexibility built into our schedule for unknown delays or disruption so this existing downtime is currently not impacting on when we'll be opening the doors.

“We’re also working really hard to create even better experiences, birthday party products, sleepovers and some really exciting special events yet to be revealed.

“We know how excited people across the region are about Gulliver’s Valley and we understand what an important part of the local community we are so we’ve released some amazing footage which really shows how far the project has come on and how fantastic it is all going to look. We’ve got many of our rides already in place and I hope our customers can get a feel for what our park is set to offer. Family fun is most certainly the name of the game.”

Gulliver’s Valley is the fourth park in the Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts family and will be a forth addition to Gulliver’s Kingdom, located in Matlock Bath in Derbyshire, Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes and Gulliver’s World in Warrington.

Added Julie: “Gulliver’s Valley has been a great park to create and we’ve kept to our family values throughout.

“We’re really looking forward to opening the gates to provide much needed family fun for all but in the meantime, we would just like to wish all our customers, old and new, the very best during this time. Please stay safe.”
