Mr H from Derbyshire has won £1m on the National Lottery's Lotto game.

Andy Carter, lottery senior winners’ advisor, said: “Huge congratulations to Mr. H for winning this fantastic prize. After a few simple clicks he has become a millionaire overnight.

“We’re encouraging everyone to check their tickets online at or by downloading the National Lottery app, and to buy or check their tickets in retail in line with government guidance.

“Playing online via the website or app means that your ticket is checked, and you get an email notification if you win a prize.

“You can also scan your retail tickets on the National Lottery app to check if you’re a winner.”

The winning numbers on March 13 were six, eight, 11, 17, 29 and 44, while the bonus ball was 20. One winner matched all six main numbers to scoop the jackpot of £4.3m, while six winners, including Mr H, matched five balls and the bonus, to win £1m each.

The lottery helps raise an average of £30m every week for good causes across the UK.

Recent funding has included more than £1 billion for charities and organisations affected by the impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
