Dozens of pupils from Worksop Priory took time out of the classroom to watch sporting history being made, and to cheer with all enthusiasm as the cyclists shot past.
Mr Phil Abbott, headteacher of Worksop Priory, said: “We’re a sporting school that enjoys finding out about different sports. We’re proud of the British culture and to see such a prestigious event running through Worksop is brilliant.”

Speaking at the event, district councillor John Shephard, Cycling Champion for Bassetlaw, said: “It’s fantastic to see everyone here to watch the race come through.
"I want to promote more cycling in Bassetlaw and try to encourage people as an ambassador, and to raise the profile for cycling.
"I have had meetings with planners about how we can get more cycle routes in future plans, so those are ongoing.”
