Final desperate appeal from terminally ill Worksop mum for 'last chance' treatment

A final push towards a Worksop mum's £120,000 goal is needed, as a last-ditch attempt to treat her spreading cancer with potential treatment at a specialist London hospital.

Without the TILS (tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte) treatment, Claire Creighton has now been told by medics in a meeting at the Christie Centre in Manchester that she has just months to live.

This follows the metastatisation of her melanoma to organs including her lungs and liver.

As Claire, 40, is now too ill to make a journey to Israel where the TILS treatment - a final option for her - is offered, the Royal Marsden Hospital, London, is considering providing the treatment to her through their private division.

This would cost well over £100,000, but is Claire's only chance of buying more time to spend with her husband Dan and their two young daughters.

The Worksop community, along with other supporters, has now helped to raise a phenomenal £98,000, £60,000 of which has been amassed in less than two weeks.

Dan, 39, has also undertaken six gruelling challenges, including a six hour continuous run in Worksop, to raise more cash and support his wife.

In an emotional address from her social media page this week, Claire provided an update and thanked her supporters.

She said: 'I've been told I've only a few short months left.

"Other than that there's nothing they can do and I've just got to wait to die. I just hope and pray the Marsden treatment can go ahead."

Fundraising efforts continue in and around Worksop, with a fully restored 1968 lilac Morris Minor now up for auction and featuring on Youtube, with proceeds to go to Claire's fund.
