Dinnington Operatic Society to bring time-travelling musical adventure to the Lyric Theatre, Dinnington

The society will soon be gracing the stage with their show It’s TIME for a Musical - as they welcome everyone back to the theatre.

Director Ashley Bookerand committee member Louise Selden came up with the original musical which sees a time-lord travel from the Bible to the future.

The society will be performing It’s TIME for a Musical at the Lyric Theatre, Dinnington, from Thursday, October 14 - Sunday, October 16.

The musical promises everyone’s favourite show tunes from The Greatest Showman to Oklahoma to Les Miserables - which the society decided would be the best way to welcome everyone back to the theatre after more than 18 months.

Dinnington Operatic Society will be bringing their new show to the stage later this month.

Ashley said: “After the last 18 months we all need a little bit of fun, music and laughter in our lives and what better way to do that than in the theatre?

“Everyone in the society has worked so hard to pull this together in just 12 weeks and I thank every single one of them.

“It’s not been easy with people having to miss rehearsals due to isolating, but we’ve got to the finishing line and that’s down to the determination of every single one of them wanting to be back on stage and once again providing first class entertainment to the people of Dinnington.”

The musical will run with a cast of around 30 people, including five members from their Student Academy.

Committee member Kirstie Turnbull accepting an award in September for the society's show programmes.

Tickets for the show are available by calling the box office at 01909 569340. You can book for their pantomime Cinderella which is to run at the Lyric from January 22 to 29.
