After a summer of rainbows, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is bringing purple back with a bang as it launches this year’s ‘Wear it Purple Day’.

The charity is asking supporters to proudly show off their favourite purple outfits, accessories, make-up or anything else purple they have to hand on October 16 to help raise awareness and funds for its life-changing work.

Whether it’s as a team at a workplace, with classmates at school or in homes and communities across the region, Bluebell Wood is asking as many people as possible to proudly sport its trademark colour to help local families going through some of the toughest times.

All supporters need to do is pick out their favourite purple piece, donate £1 and wear it loud and proud for everyone to see.

Samantha Wood, head of fundraising at Bluebell Wood, said: “We’d love to see the region become a fabulous sea of purple to show the world just how amazing our supporters are.

“Not only does it give you chance to show off your purple finery and have a bit of fun, you’ll also be raising awareness of a charity that offers a much-needed lifeline for local families when they need it the most.

“After a challenging year where most of our fundraising events have been cancelled or postponed, each and every penny we raise really does make a huge difference to children and families going through the toughest of times.

“So whether you do it from work, home, school or anywhere else, please join us and be #ProudinPurple this October for Bluebell Wood.”

The charity is asking those who take part to share their ‘Wearing it Purple’ pictures on social media for all to see with the hashtag #ProudinPurple.
