After smashing his previous fundraising target of £250,000 for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice Mr Dixon now has his sights set on raising £350,000.

He said: “We are just starting our seventh year. We are looking forward to this year, hoping it will be very fruitful in raising funds for Bluebell. “Companies can put their logo on my car for £200, if a member of the public donates £10 or more to my Just Giving Page they can request a photo of their sticker on my Facebook Page. I would like to thank the anonymous people who keep donating to my page, thank you. Now we have passed £300,000, let's go for £350,000.”

This is the latest in a long line of fundraising efforts for Mr Dixon.

He said: “I have fundraised for about 30 years. At first while at work only on a small scale and divided funds raised between ten charities. When I retired and sold my business I bought some Jaguar XK's and started showing them for charity. I decided just to pick one charity out of the ten and picked Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice because it was local and for children. My first year I raised £4,840, but felt I could do better. One morning I woke at about 4am and thought people would buy stickers to sign and stick on one of my cars. This really took off and that year we raised over £78,000. We have now raised over £301,000.”

Mr Dixon is set to present his latest cheque to staff from Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice on Saturday.
