Since his wife, Jade, died in 2018 after the birth of their son, Hugo, Ric Hart took to writing to help come to terms with his loss, and to give Hugo a lasting legacy of his mother.
He wrote a book for children about bereavement, Hugo and Daddy’s Night-time Adventures, then an autobiography, Pupy Love.
Two more children’s books are in the pipeline – Hugo and Daddy’s Thailand Adventures and Hugo and Daddy’s Superhero Adventures – part of the Hugo and Daddy’s suite of books.
But now with a new lady in Ric’s life, Victoria, and her three sons Harry, George, and Charlie, the two families are jointly working on the next book, Hugo and Daddy’s Christmas Adventures.
Charlie and George both go to Redlands Primary School, Harry goes to Outwood Academy Valley.
Ric said: “It will tell the story of Hugo going on an adventure with Santa at night and visiting the North Pole.
"I am hoping this provides an opportunity for the boys and gives them the confidence that anything is possible in life going forward.
"They are all great readers, so they are finding the writing of the book, and illustrating it fascinating.”
