Graham White, of Misterton’s Beetroot UK, enlisted the help of a tractor driver to scrawl the touching salute in characters 30 metres tall and 20 metres wide.

Incredible video footage shows driver Dean Hobson whipping the Case Quadtrac 620 horsepower tractor around the field while carving the massive letters with a drag rake.

Amazingly Dean inscribed the giant figures within five minutes and in just one take.

In the video the tractor can be seen deploying and then retracting the rake as it etches the celebration in the mud, spinning around at speed between lines.

As the tractor works other agricultural workers can be seen clapping in a montage of video clips surrounding it.

Graham, 57, said he came up with the idea as the Government began its emergency measures to contain Covid-19 and communities began going into isolation - saying ‘it felt like the world was ending’.

He said: “The NHS are outstanding because they’re putting their lives at risk.

“This is a worldwide problem and so health services worldwide deserve some appreciation.”

Graham, who inherited the 4,000-acre farm from his father Stan White, 92, told how he hatched the wacky plan to cheer up his workers and his family - who all work at the farm.

He said: “We’ve been through a real hard time with the weather this year so we were a bit fed-up anyway.

“The weather got better then this horrible disease arrived.”

Graham, who said of the video ‘I think it’s done a good job’ added ‘it seems to be getting a lot of hits on Facebook and YouTube - which is very good, I think’.
