One angry mum told how she received a text from the school on Tuesday warning ‘police will take details’ of those caught breaking the rule of six and ‘fines could be issued’.
A staff member from the school wrote in the text message how it had been forwarded from a police liaison officer.

She said: “I just thought ‘oh my god’ - they spend all day in school in bubbles much larger than six so what’s the difference between that and walking home?
“Even though the kids are let out in stages there are that many leaving at the same time - if they can be together in the classroom all day what’s the problem with them walking home together?
“When my daughter walks home from school she walks home with her mates - then you get a text saying we could be fined and have police taking details.”

The concerned parent said it appeared as though the message had been ‘randomly written by someone without thinking about it’.
A spokesman for Outwood Valley Academy said: “We were asked by our police liaison officer to share the text message with our parents and carers.”
Nottinghamshire Police have been contacted for comment.
